  1. Integration studies – Part 1Inner triplet Y. Muttoni TS-ICC-LI 31 July 2008

  2. Summary • Study inputs and limitations • Equipment in place UJ14 • Study implantation new equipment UJ14 • Equipment in place RZ54-USC55 • Equipment in place UJ56 • Study implantation new equipment By-pass USC55 • Conclusions IRP1 Review - Y. Muttoni TS-ICC

  3. Study inputs and limitations Equipment (compared to existing solution). Add energy extraction (DQR-DQS). Electrical feed box outside beam. Cold D1 magnet. Limit Implantation studied around Pt1 in UJ14 (UJ16 symmetrical). Implantation racks studied inside by-pass near USC55. Electrical feed box like DFBL used. New electrical link. New DQR (mechanical or semiconductor). IRP1 Review - Y. Muttoni TS-ICC

  19. New Equipment Point 5 Routing link should be studied more in detail Transport area New rack layout symmetrical for each side IRP1 Review - Y. Muttoni TS-ICC

  20. New Equipment Point 5 Cross section By-Pass Transport area USC55 IRP1 Review - Y. Muttoni TS-ICC

  21. New Equipment Point 5 IRP1 Review - Y. Muttoni TS-ICC

  22. Conclusions • New electrical link: • Routing link should be studied in detail at point 5. • Distance between DFB and Inner triplet is may be too far at point 5? • New rack layout • New cable (Control, power) routing required. • New cooling water pipe routing required. • Audit of rack use required with all owners (optimize space?). • New position of control access is necessary at point 1. • New energy extraction • Required for space constraints • Checking metallic structure in point 1. • Electrical feed box • New design or using DFBL? • Implantation equipment • Radiation issue.
