  2. Examples • Temperature • Light intensity • pH • Water content of soil • You must know how to MEASURE these

What you should have known • Temperature - a soil thermometer in the ground • Light intensity - you hold the light meter above the plants • pH- put the pH probe into the ground • Water content – put the soil moisture probe into the ground You must leave it in long enough for the reading to be made

  4. The readings should be written down at the time • You should take more than one reading- about 5 is probably best and write them all down • You then calculate an average to give you the value for that area • (Average ----- add up the 5 then divide the total by 5)
