  1. PRESENTATION OFCOMPUTER NETWOKING TOPIC CLASSIFICATION OF NETWORKING

  2. NETWORKING • Networking concerned with communication between two or more devices and computers. The recourse's are sharable. • The computer network is any set of computer or devices to each other with the ability to exchange the data.

  3. Type’s of network • Local area network (LAN) • Wide area network (WAN) • Metropolitan area network (MAN) • Wireless networks (WLAN,WWAN)

  4. All networks are interconnected to allow communication with a variety of different kinds of media, including twister pair copper wire and various wireless technologies .the devices can be separated by a few meters (e.g.. Via Bluetooth ) or nearly unlimited distances (e.g.. Via the interconnection of the internet .

  5. LAN • LAN stands for local area network . • A local area network is a peer-to-peer or client to server method of networking • It is used in small office networking .where rescores uses minimum and a home network .(e.g. our college labs )

  6. MAN • Man stands for metropolitan network. • It is the too large for even the largest of LAN’s but is not on scale of a WAN. • It also integrates 2 or more LAN network over a specific geographical area .

  7. WAN • It stands for wide area network. • A wide area network is a network where a wide variety of resources are deployed across a large domestic area or internationally . • An example of this in multinational business that uses a WAN to inter connected in different countries. • The largest and best example of WAN is the internet witch is a network comprised of many smaller networks

  8. WLAN ,WWAN • It stand’s for wireless LAN or wireless WAN. • A wireless network is basically as the same as LAN or a WAN but there are no wires. • The data is transfer over sets of radio transceiver . • These type of network are beneficial when it is too costly or inconvenient to run the necessary cables

  9. NETWORK TOPOLOGIES The network topology defines the way in which computer’s printers and other devices are connected physically and logically. A network topology describe the layout of the wire and devices as well as the paths used by data transmission.

  10. COMMONLY USED TOPOLOGIES • Bus • Star • Tree (hierarchical) • liner • Mesh
