Jumping Through • the Hoops • So Many Choices! • There are nearly than 4500 colleges/universities in America • There are 301 in CA • http://www.cappex.com/colleges/states/California • There are more than 20 within one hour of Colton. • With so many choices, how does a person choose, and how do I get in to the one I choose?

  3. Jumping Through • the Hoops • So Many Choices! • Disposition -- Where you kinda want to go right now, for whatever reason • Search -- Research, visits, etc. • Choice --You choose and the college chooses

  4. Jumping Through • the Hoops • A Fit, Not a Trophy • What is the best college in America? • U.S. news & World Reports says it's ___, but is that really the case? • The best college is the one that fits you best? • Your college is IN a community, and IS a community. • Harvard

  5. Jumping Through • the Hoops • College or University • "I don't want to go to college, I want to go to a university." • There are basically (for your purposes) the same thing. • It has to do with the organizational structure, if they offer post-grad degrees, (and size) of the school.
