The syllabus of the IAS exam is enormous. As a result, many IAS aspirants fail to finish the IAS syllabus and clear the exam. Since only a few succeed in passing the IAS exam, many consider the UPSC exam a tough nut to crack. The truth behind the UPSC exam is that it is a tough exam, but with a lot of determination, perseverance, and confidence, candidates can pass the UPSC exam. Once you can clear the IAS exam, there is no looking back. IAS interview features and characteristics One of the fundamental reasons why the IAS aspirants fail to clear the IAS interview is because they are unaware of the characteristics of the IAS interview. Here, we have mentioned the features of an IAS interview that all IAS aspirants should be aware of. 1. Clarity in thoughts While answering the questions, the candidates have to be clear about their thoughts. The panelists or examiners sitting in front of you are no fools. Hence, do not even try to trick them by using flowery language. All they look for is the candidate should be able to express himself clearly in words. Since language is not a barrier in the UPSC interview round, candidates can answer in Hindi or English. 2. Better grasping and acknowledgment of narrative The IAS candidate should be able to understand the questions of the examiners clearly and then provide a proper answer. Often, it has been noticed that candidates misunderstand the question asked to them. Another problem that candidates face is not being able to comprehend the narrative that has been presented to them. As a result, their answer appears to be wrong. 3. Ability of reasoning Another significant factor that IAS candidates should consider before appearing for the IAS interview is their lack of logic and reasoning ability. Most of the questions asked in the UPSC interview round are based on logic. Therefore, the candidates have to learn to apply the right reason to justify their viewpoints rightly. 4. Appreciating other’s viewpoints

  2. In the UPSC interview round, the examiners ask questions that make you present different viewpoints on a particular topic. Each one of you must have formed one viewpoint or the other. After presenting your viewpoint, grab the opportunity to focus on the opinions and views of others. Try to justify them and enhance the loopholes that are still present. It is the responsibility of the candidate to showcase how you can cover up these loopholes by being an IAS officer. 5. Awareness of socio-economic issues Before becoming an IAS officer, you need to stress your surroundings' sociological and economic conditions. Since you are on the journey of becoming an IAS officer, the examiners will ask you questions related to the social and economic conditions of the country. The Kurukshetra and the Yojana are two magazines that can help you answer such questions. 6. In-depth learning of the topics In the UPSC interview round, the panelists ask questions through which they learn whether the candidate has detailed knowledge about the topic. Keeping this in mind, it has to be understood by every candidate that whatever topic you study, make sure to read it thoroughly. When preparing for the UPSC exam, no selective study should be followed. Conclusion Therefore, now that you know about the characteristics of the UPSC interview round, it will be easier for you to assess if the UPSC exam is challenging. The toughness of the UPSC exam can be eased only if you can follow the proper technique to study. Originally posted content: https://demo.sngine.com/blogs/39072/Is-the-IAS-Interview-Tough
