  1. Luke 2.28-33 28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: 29 "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised you now dismiss your servant in peace. 30 For my eyes have seen your salvation, 31 which you have prepared in the sight of all people, 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel." 33 The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him.

  2. Who Am I?

  3. I was described as a man who does what God wants. I did things as described by the Law of Moses. I was a responsible citizen. I worked with my hands to provide for my family. I was a man on the brink of divorce. I was a man of reflection and meditation. Sometimes, I had dreams telling me what to do. I adopted a son that was not mine. I was amazed at things people said about my son. Who Am I?

  4. In English: Joseph You Know My Name In Hebrew: Yosef Meaning: “Jehovah Has Added”

  5. I was described as a man who does what God wants. 19 Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. Righteous(NIV); Just(KJV): observing divine laws; upright; virtuous; keeping the commandments of God (Thayer) Matthew 1.19

  6. I did things as described by the Law of Moses. 22 When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23(as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord"[Ex. 13.2,12]), 24and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: "a pair of doves or two young pigeons."[Le. 12.8] 39 When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. Luke 2.22-24, 39

  7. I was a responsible citizen. 1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to his own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. Census, To Register(NIV)Taxed, Taxing, To Be Taxed(KJV) To be registered by name in public records regarding property and income (Thayer) Luke 2.2-4

  8. I worked with my hands to provide for my family. 55 "Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? Matthew 13.55

  9. I was a man on the brink of divorce. 19 Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. To put her away(KJV) Matthew 1.19

  10. I was a man of reflection and meditation. 19 Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him While he thought on these things(KJV) Matthew 1.19-20a

  11. Sometimes, I had dreams telling me what to do. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. Matthew 1.20-21, 24

  12. Sometimes, I had dreams telling me what to do. 13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him." 14 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, Matthew 2.13-14

  13. I adopted a son that was not mine. 23 Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph (as was supposed) the son of Joseph(KJV) Remember Jesus was from the Holy Spirit – Matthew 1.20-21 Joseph was a Carpenter – Matthew 13.55 Luke 3.23

  14. I was amazed at things people said about my son. 28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: 29 "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised you now dismiss your servant in peace. 30 For my eyes have seen your salvation, 31 which you have prepared in the sight of all people, 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel." 33 The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him. Luke 2.33
