  1. Knee Replacement Alternatives for Elderly to Get Relief from Osteoarthritis Pain There are many alternatives to knee replacement for elderly. As with any medical procedure, some are safer than others. For example, the surgery results can be quite favourable in that your knee will heal quickly, and you will not need to bear weight to correct the joint damage. Other procedures such as arthroscopic knee surgery can lead to less severe results. Yet other non-surgical alternatives to knee surgery exist. You should take the time to learn about them if you are considering a knee surgery procedure. Stem cells are an effective alternative to knee surgery for some people who have arthritis. Arthritis is a state where the cartilage cushioning your joints is damaged. The stem cells can help repair the damage and help make your joints feel better. This procedure has shown promise in helping people with arthritis feel better.

  2. You may also want to consider alternatives to knee pain relief if you have a mild case of arthritis. These methods include heat therapy and intersegment bandaging. Heat therapy is a method that helps keep the area moist as it tries to repair the damaged cartilage in your knee. The bandage works by limiting blood flow to the affected area. This will decrease the swelling that accompanies arthritis. Intersegment Bandaging Another of the more common alternative treatment options is intersegment bandaging. An adhesive bandage is applied to the top of a joint during this therapy while keeping it open. As the application is used, it covers over the joint and creates an artificial layer of protection. If friction or swelling occurs, the bandage can be removed to allow the joint to heal. The Laminectomy Treatment For those suffering from more severe forms of arthritis, there are surgical alternatives to osteoarthritis. One of these alternatives is laminectomy, which involves removing a portion of the joint. Another option is arthrodesis, which involves surgically inserting metal rods into the joints. Both of these procedures are designed to relieve the pain brought about by osteoarthritis. As previously stated, there are numerous alternatives to knee replacement surgery. Each of these treatment options should be pursued in conjunction with the methods that your doctor has recommended. You mustn't begin any alternative treatment regimen before consulting your physician. Knee replacement surgery should only be considered as a last resort when other treatments have failed.

  3. Other Alternative Treatment While not all of the methods used to treat different forms of arthritis are suitable for all patients, some ways stand out as particularly effective at relieving the symptoms of osteoarthritis, especially patellar subluxation. In the case of patellar subluxation, or the putting of the kneecap too far forward, there are two main treatment methods. The first is known as steroid injection therapy. This involves the administration of cortisone, a type of anti-inflammatory medication, into the joint where the kneecap is subluxated. This injection helps relieve the pressure on the kneecap and helps to bring relief from knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. Another method of treating osteoarthritis is with the use of knee replacement surgery. These include arthroscopic knee replacements and total knee replacement surgeries. Many physicians prefer to avoid surgery entirely and recommend one of the numbers of knee replacement alternatives to available osteoarthritis patients. These alternatives include non-invasive knee pain treatments such as the use of electric current and radiofrequency energy waves. Many topical medications can be used for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Among these topical medications are steroidal compounds and NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory). Other medications such as gels and ointments that have an anti-inflammatory effect may also be used. Get Directions: https://goo.gl/maps/1Mif3dYXMHskve1n9
