  2. You Can Help! Do you have… …a plan? …the means? …hope? Have you ever tried to kill yourself before? • Tell them you are worried. • Listen!Show support, be available, be interested. • Askif they are thinking of killing themselves. If they say yes, ask other questions. • Gettheir number. • Make a plan, including their promise to call you if they are in crisis.

  3. What to Do If the threat is NOT imminent… • Follow up. • Suggest an appointment With the counseling center. • Call to check on them. If the threat IS imminent… • Call 911 or security. • Go to their room to check on them.
