    16. QCI Essential Standard for Medical Testing Laboratories

    17. The number of Indian laboratories (currently estimated at 100,000) is growing and the trend is expected to continue. The reliability of test results from medical testing laboratories is essential. Adherence to quality standards varies among India’s laboratories, and relatively few medical labs are currently capable of achieving accreditation to global ISO 15189 standards. Therefore, a national minimal quality standard for medical laboratories and a rigorous education-based approach are warranted.

    18. Minimize lab fears, even the smallest labs, through awareness programming, mentoring & education Make it affordable & effective, regardless of lab size or location, or current sophistication Implement using an operational partner that Empowers, even the smallest labs, through education Enable State & National health crises planning and response to health crisis, such as pandemic diseases
