  2. What is Geothermal Energy? Geothermal energy is a form of energy obtained from inside the Earth. Some examples of geothermal energy are hot springs, geysers, and volcanoes.

  3. Facts about Geothermal Energy • It is made inside Earth. • It is clean, reliable, sustainable, and cost effective but its availability is often limited. • Geothermal energy is made in over 20 countries around the world. • It supplies less than 10% of the world's energy • Geothermal energy is said to be one of the greatest natural energy resources!

  4. How Geothermal Energy works Geothermal energy is taken from the middle of the earth, or straight from the sun. Magma, or molten rocks, usually come out of cracks on the earth's surface. But, when it can't escape, it heats water and other rocks. The hot water can be transferred through pipes to heat pumps, or provide water for personal use of the heated water may stay underground in places called geothermal reservoirs.

  5. Advantages of Geothermal Energy • It does not cause pollution • It reduces our reliance on fossil fuels • It saves 80% costs over fossil fuels and no fuel is used to generate the power • Geothermal power plants do not require a large space to build on • Geothermal energy is very efficient and long lasting

  6. Disadvantages of Geothermal Energy Some disadvantages of geothermal energy are that it has a very high installation cost. It can only be installed in regions that have hot rocks below the earth and can produce steam over a long period of time. Also, geothermal is extremely hard to transport and it can only be used in surrounding areas.

  7. Is Geothermal Energy Good for the Environment? Yes, geothermal energy is very environmentally friendly. In fact, geothermal energy is actually used for many household heating heating and cooling devices. Since geothermal energy is clean and good for the environment, its popularity is growing by the day.

  8. Is Geothermal Energy renewable or nonrenewable Geothermal energy is renewable. Due to the fact that geothermal energy is harnessing heat from the earth, it has an unlimited supply. Although geothermal energy is renewable, it is self-renewing like trees. There is no way to get geothermal energy every second because it has to come back just like trees do.

  9. How does the future look for geothermal energy? Since geothermal energy is renewable, long-lasting, and efficient, it is going to be a popular and plentiful resource in the future. Though not many countries use it today, the energy craze will fly from country to country as this green, clean energy source helps us power many things.
