  2. Standard for Tracking and Tracing on Inland Waterways Darstellung auf Inland ECDIS • International Standard for Tracking and Tracing on Inland Waterways (UNECE Resolution No. 63) • In July 2012 the EU published Commission implementation regulation (EU) No 689/2012 of 27 July 2012 amending Regulation No 415/2007 of 13 March 2007 • This implementation regulation EU No 689/2012 causes the need to revise the Vessel Tracking and Tracing Standards of the different river commissions and of the UNECE. • International bodies publishing VTT standards: • - EU Regulation No 415/2007 • - CCNR VTT standard V. 1.01; 2007 • - UNECE Resolution No 63 • - the necessary amendment of Regulation EU No 689/2012, • - a correction of Annex E in Regulation EU No 689/2012 and • - amendments regarding the quotation from Recommendation ITU-R M.1371, since ITU-R M.1371 has bee revised as well. . • clarification of some parameter in Inland AIS regarding the default value • introducing AIS Class B (new chapter 3)

  3. Standard for Tracking and Tracing on Inland Waterways Darstellung auf Inland ECDIS • Working towards draft revision Tracking and Tracing Standard for Inland Navigation 2013 • The VTT EG compiled the following draft revision of the Vessel Tracking and Tracing Standard which is based on the CCNR Vessel Tracking and Tracking Standard Edition 1.01 of 2007. • - the necessary amendment of Regulation EU No 689/2012, • - a correction of Annex E in Regulation EU No 689/2012 and • - amendments regarding the quotation from Recommendation ITU-R M.1371, since ITU-R M.1371 has bee revised as well. . • clarification of some parameter in Inland AIS regarding the default value • introducing AIS Class B (new chapter 3)

  4. Standard for Tracking and Tracing on Inland Waterways Darstellung auf Inland ECDIS • Working towards draft revision Tracking and Tracing Standard for Inland Navigation 2013 • The river commissions and the UN/ECE are invited to review this document and provide comments to the VTT EG. • The VTT EG will resolve and incorporate the comments received into the document and will provide the revised document to the river commission and the UN/ECE for their approval after the next VTT EG meeting in June 2013. • This procedure is proposed to reach a maximum of harmonisation of their Vessel Tracking and Tracing Standard. The technical content of the standards shall be harmonised to ensure interoperability of European wide inland navigation.
