COMESA PUBLIC PROCUREMENT REFORM • Background * A Grant of US $1.5 million was approved by the ADF for the COMESA Public Procurement Reform Project in April 2001 • Components of the Project *Baseline Data Diagnostic Analysis, Development and Validation of COMESA Public Procurement Directives * Implementation (variable geometry approach)

COMESA Public Procurement Reform Project Implementation Status Project Implementation Unit in place: Project Manager commenced duty May 2002: Contract with Consultant also signed in May 2002 Stakeholders Forum held in December 2002; Procurement Directives to be completed by February 2003 Project Completion–April 2004
