Mise en scene In the music video 'love story' by Taylor Swift,the mise en scene has a royal themerepresentingthe story of Romeo and Juliet.Some key mise en scene points that I picked out included the olden days. This is dictated by the clothesthey are wearing as well as the background which is a castle. The clothes in particular wouldn’tnormally be associated with the 21st century. The lighting in this music video is very neutral and can be described as high key lighting. This combines well with the cream colored costumes and ballroom.

  3. Camera work There are many different camera works in the music video including a birds eye view perspective, pans and tilts which were sometimes combined to create a stronger effect and close ups. There was also an establishing shot at the beginning showing a school but in Taylors mind it is a castle of which is referred to many times throughout the video.

  4. Editing Editing in the music video consist of many jump cuts, matching action shots and continuity. There is also a Leit motif of her in the castle which reminds the audience of Romeo and Juliet. These images show a tilt which happens on the setting of the castle.
