  1. The cell & inheritence By: Montana Schelchere 7B*

  2. Who is Walter Sutton? This scientist was the first person to prove that Chromosomes had the cells unit of inheritance. Walter Sutton is an American geneticist that was eager to find out about cells.

  3. What role do chromosomes play in inheritance? Chromosomes are doubled rods of condensed chromatin. Chromosomes are in the nucleus of each cell and consist of DNA molecules.

  4. CHROMOSOME PAIRS Half of the chromosomes come from the male the others from the female • Humans(23) • Aquatic Rat(92) • Cat(38) • Cow(60) • Dog(78) • Dove(78) • Fruit fly(8) • Rat(42)

  5. wHat events occur during the process of meiosis? During meiosis, the chromosome pairs separate and are given to two chromosomes as different cells. The remaining sexcells have only half as many chromosomes as the other cells in the organism.

  6. What is the relationship between chromosomes and genes? Chromosomes are made up of many genes combined together like beads on a strings. A chromosome consists of DNA that are made up of genes.

  7. What have we learned? We have learned: Who Walter Sutton is and what his achievements are. What role chromosomes play in inheritance. What events occur during the process of meiosis What the relationship between genes and chromosomes are. Thanks for watching!!!& Merry Christmas!!!
