  2. Police & Crime Plan objectives • Strengthen local policing • Work with local communities and partners to keep Sussex safe • Protect our vulnerable and help victims cope and recover from crime and abuse • Improve access to justice for victims and witnesses

Strengthen local policing • Ensure local policing services are accessible • Local Policing Plan launch • Provide effective specialist capabilities to support local policing • Mobile technology/e-books roll-out • Body worn video • Operation Discovery launched • Maintain engagement in the delivery of local policing services to improve public confidence • Precept • Two Crime Summits held: Fraud and Elder Exploitation in Brighton, ASB in Hastings • Summer engagement: High level of concern re hate crime & DA at Brighton Fresher Fair. Sussex Police engagement with students as a direct result of findings.

Work with local communities and partners to keep Sussex safe • Encourage and support local communities to prevent crime and disorder • Homelessness pan-Sussex • Safer in Sussex community fund • Work with partners to reduce offending and reoffending • Restorative Justice: Hellingly, HMP Bronzefield, DVA/SA pilot • Drive project • Catch criminals and prevent serious and organised crime and terrorism • Modern Slavery event and Anti-Modern Slavery business manager • Hastings Anti Tracking Hub • Body Shop

Protect our vulnerable and help victims cope and recover from crime and abuse • Commission high-quality services which support victims • Hate crime & persistent targeted workshop held, launch service 2019 • Trans/non-binary workshop held • Specialist stalking service commissioned • Prioritise access to services for vulnerable victims • Safe:Space • Vulnerable victims of fraud pilot • Medium risk DA pathway revised in Brighton & Hove to make more seamless • Enhance our understanding and meet the needs of victims in Sussex • Victim Personal Statement improvement plan
