  2. Needs and Motivation • Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs • The theory suggests that basic-level needs must be met before higher-level needs can be satisfied. • Maslow spoke of Metamotivation, which refers to the motivation pushing one to constantly strive for the higher-level needs.

  3. External Motivational • Motivation from an external environment. • People and objects around the person are the sources of motivation. • Shown to not be as motivating as Internal motivation.

  4. Internal Motivation • The way in which one is empowered to motivate themselves. • All people strive for self-fulfillment. The level of internal motivation in a person decides their level of success.

  5. Planning to Motivate • Motivation should constantly and continuously be integrated into all environments, especially work environments. • People are motivated by motivated leaders. All people should be able to motivate themselves, and motivate others, consciously.

  6. Motivation in the Workplace • Productivity and growth are direct reflections of the level of motivation in the workplace. • Personalization • An employee is valued as a person, not as a worker • Socialization • Respect must always be present in the workplace • Individualization • Workers must understand their own roles in the workplace, and realize the value of their work

  7. Twenty-Percent Time20% Time • Employees should spend only 80% of their time focusing on set tasks. The other 20% of their time should go to working on their own ideas. • As workers focus on their own ideas, they are motivated to pursue a successful outcome, which could lead to overall company success. • GooglePlus is a direct outcome of 20% Time

GooglePlusGoogle+ • A combination of many social-networking platforms. • Connects most Google Accounts together. • Allows one to be creative with their own profile, and follow other users that interest them. • Connects users with friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances. • A tool that helps users explore and connect with different aspects of life and people.
