  4. Orbicularis Oculi Blinks eye

  5. Orbicularis Oris Closes Lips

  6. Buccinator Compresses cheek

  7. Zygomaticus Helps to smile (lift corners of lips)

  8. Platysma Helps to frown (lower corners of lips)

  9. Temporalis Close jaw

  10. Masseter Close jaw

  11. Sternocleidomastoid Flex neck and rotate head

  12. Trapezius Extends head, rotates and adducts scapula

  13. Latissimus Dorsi Extend, adduct & rotate arm medially

  14. Deltoid Abducts & flexes arm

  15. Pectoralis Major Flexes, adducts & rotates arm medially

  16. Rotator Cuff Group of 4 muscles that rotates & stabilizes arm Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Subscapularis, Teres Minor

  17. Erector Spinae Rotates and extends vertebral column and head

  18. External Intercostals Elevate ribs (inspiration)

  19. Internal Intercostals Depress ribs (forced expiration)

  20. Diaphragm Inspiration

  21. Rectus Abdominis Flexes & compresses abdomen

  22. External Oblique Compresses abdomen

  23. Internal Oblique Compresses abdomen

  24. Transversus Abdominis Compresses abdomen

  25. Biceps Brachii Flexes elbow joint (forearm)

  26. Triceps Brachii Extend elbow joint (forearm)

  27. Brachialis Flexes elbow joint (forearm)

  28. Brachioradialis Flexes elbow joint (forearm)

  29. Forearm Muscles • Flexor carpi ulnaris – flexes wrist • Flexor carpi radialis – flexes wrist

  32. Forearm Muscles • Flexor digitorum - flexes fingers

  33. Forearm Muscles • Extensor digitorum - extends fingers

  34. Right Arm, Anterior Side (Palm side up)

  35. Right Arm, Posterior Side (Palm side down)

  36. Gluteus Maximus Extends & rotates thigh laterally

  37. Gluteus Medius Abducts & rotates thigh

  38. Upper Leg Muscles

  39. Rectus Femoris Flexes Thigh, Extends Lower Leg (part of quadriceps)

  40. Vastus Lateralis Extends Lower Leg (part of quadriceps)

  41. Vastus Medialis Extends Lower Leg (part of quadriceps)

  42. The 4th muscle of the “quad” group is the Vastus Intermedius, which is hidden below the other three!
