What happened since 2007: • - FEBRUARY 2008: Order update in Real time for iSeries keys. • - JANUARY 2009: ESS big profile : An initial Step for searching a customer number or an Hardware serial number when the user ID has more than 200 machines registered under its profile. • - FEBRUARY 2009: • - iSeries Order Update- it is now possible to update a Key and Epoe for a single product to the same level of Version Release as the operating system (SS1 5050) • - pSeries – Order Update. . Order update will present the product in the same way as Download is showing currently. The user will need first to select a SIPO number and then can select the different products under SIPO number. • -Download and Customer number registration – it is now possible to register using the hardware serial number and receive access to download only. • - JUNE 2009 : ESS have been updated to IBM V16 standard and enhancements to make the website more user friendly. • There is no more “administration functions”. • Order updates, downloads, Key management, entitlements and SWMA rec options are now available from the left hand menu. • All options are now directly available from the left menu bar. • You can return to the initial page of any functions by clicking on the left menu bar even if you are already in that option. • - We have added more “cancel” button to the different options which will return to the previous page.

  3. PART I : REGISTER AN IBM USER ID – FIRST TIME ACCESS If it is the first time you access ESS, You need first register an IBM ID. Click on the link “register” (**) - Use your email address as User ID. - The user ID must be of maximum 16 characters. - The user ID and password can be used on other IBM websites.

  4. Any problem with registration or sign in ? • Note : Passwords are case sensitive. Make sure that caps lock is not on accidentally. • Please contact the Help Desk for any registration or Signing issues as wrong password or user ID. Contact information can be found in the right hand menu under ”sign in assistance”. • Note : Problem with Passwords and user ID are not supported by Customer Support in Denmark. • Unless you get the following error message: • We are unable to validate IBM ID/password at the moment. Please try later

BUSINESS PARTNERS PROFILE • The BP role allows you to have access to a customer’s number, even if there is already a Primary Contact assigned to that number.Youwill receive the following default authorizations: • - VIEW KEYS • VIEW EPOES • DOWNLOAD • ORDER UPDATE • SWMA INVENTORY CHECK • For further authorization, such as the ones listed below, please send the request to the primary contact or Admin. • - TRANSFER EPOES • ADMIN • If there is no Primary user or Administrator:1. You may encourage the End Customer representing the company to register the customer number, be assigned the Primary Contact and provide you with the extended, additional access.2. You may request the Business Partner User Profile to be removed from your IBM ID, register the customer number again and you will be assigned the Primary Contact representing the company. • 3. You may create an second user ID with no Business Partner Profile.

  6. How to register as Business Partner ? In the left hand menu, click on “Register for Business Partner Access”

  7. Fill in the form accordingly and submit the form. You will receive a confirmation within48 hours. Note : the email address should be your company's email address

  8. Note: When you are registered as BP, the option to register for Business Partner access will disappear from the left side menu

How to register a customer number ( For External User with no Business Partner profile) • This first step is required one time only for each customer number. • The person who registers the customer number will be assigned as the primary contact. • Ensure that the company you are registering the customer number for will not need access or make sure to designate an administrator within the company. • First Page • => Choose Register IBM customer number • Select the country from the drop in list • Type the customer number, without country code • ( US = 7) • => Click on SUBMIT to proceed.

Second page : • To obtain full access to the customer number, one the of following items should be selected. • Order number (6 digits) • SWMA Contract Number (6 digits) • System number (5 digits) note: this is not the Hardware serial number • Note: if customer number has already a primary contact, the auth above will be grayed out. • Contact the primary user on the link “here” (**) • To obtain access to Download softwares only: • Hardware Serial Number (7 digits)

  12. When you register a customer number with BP profile: On the second page; Because of the BP partner profile, all authentications are available even if there is a Primary contact. You can register with order number, SWMA contract number and system number and have access to the following authorizations : - View keys, View ePoes, view SWMA - Order updates - Downloads

  13. Problem to register a customer number ? IF you get the following error message : 1317 – Validation is not passed IT means that there is mismatch between customer number and order/system number/hardware serial number. - R eview the information on the packing list received with the software. - Note : Software order number is needed for registration not to confuse with the hardware order number. - Note: Only original information is valid, if E-poe has been moved to another customer number or to another hardware serial number, the new combination is not valid anymore. 1206: Unknown customer number Verify if information was correct typed and the correct country code was selected. Customer number are the 7 last numeric digits. The country code are the first three numeric digits

Manage a customer number • - Manage authorizations: • This option is only available for Admin/primary user role. • You can add a new user ID to the customer number and select the authorizations you wish to give to the user . • You can edit authorizations for a user and add or remove authorizations. • You can remover a user ID from a customer number. • - Edit nickname • How to manage a Primary user role ? • You can transfer Primary Contat Authorization to another User ID • without losing your access to the customer number, but you will need • to have at least Admin authority. => Edit another User ID and check “Primary contact “ , the primary contact will be automatically unchecked under your own user ID. • => If you are an admin, you can as well uncheck Primary contact from one user ID and add it to another User ID. • => If you remove a user ID with Primary user role, the Primary user role will be automatically assigned to you.

View my authorizations : What can you do: - View authorization details for a selected customer number. - Remove a customer number from your profile - You can request additional access to the Administrator/ Primary Contact Note: If you are a primary contact, please transfer authorization of primary contact to another user before you remove your own user ID.

  16. PART III : MY ENTITLED SOFTWARE You can now go to one of the functions from the left hand menu bar Note : The different options will only show if you have access to it. Sneak preview: Newsflash installationon the 24th of August.

  17. Initial Step: IF more than 200 machines are registered under your profile, a customer number or an Hadrware serial number will need first to be specified: - Customer number: only if there is less than 200 machines under the customer number. - Hardware serial number : 4 ch.

ORDER UPDATE – ESU (IBM i and AIX) Step 1: Select a customer number and a hardware serial number Conditions of an upgrade order for IBMi : - There is an ePoe for the product or the sw serial number is correctly linked to the system number and customer number in the inventory. - There is active SWMA Conditions of an upgrade order for IBMAIX : - There is active SWMA

  19. Order Update for IBM i Step 2: Updates availability. Update of a single product : In the exemple below 5722-WDS and BR1 licence keys at a lower release thant the i/OS release. (see screenshot below of the Keys page) The current i/OS release at V5r4 so 3 products are available at the current release : SS1 5050 Slic Modification refresh, 5722-WDS and 5722-BR1.

  20. Order Update for IBM i Update to a Higher release : The current i/os release is at V5r4, all products available for update to the highest release (V6R1) will show up in the screen.

Order Update for IBM AIX • Step 2: Updates availability • The list of products available for updates based on the SWMA are shown. • Products are separated by SIPO Number : 5692-A5L for AIX V5.3 and 5692-A6P for AIX V6.1. • Click on “show feature code” to see all different Products and features avaialable under a SIPO number. • For AIX V5r3 and AIX V6.1 When placing an upgrade order you will receive the latest TL and SP version avaialble. • Earlier TL or SP level are avaialble depending of the SWMA under SIPO number : 5799-HKS and 5799-HKR • As for IBM i you can select the media option and the language

Select the version release you would like to upgrade to: (IBM i) - Current base release Version is based on the active software key of the IBM i/OS ( 57XX-SS1 feature 5050) - Available versions in alignment with your SWMA are displayed – Verify the SWMA information if the highest version is not displayed. - Choose to upgrade to the current base release for upgrade of single products. Select the delivery option: (IBM i and AIX) For IBM i, Ship product code and pubs will be by default. For AIX : eDelivery will be by default.

  23. Step 2 : Terms and Conditions

  24. Step 3 : Order Summary You can edit the shipping address if you need to make any changes to it or add the person who should receive the order.

  25. Step 3 : Order Summary You can see the list of Media features that will be sent. A confirmation email will be sent to your email address. You can add other emails by clicking on ”edit email distribution list”

  26. Last Step : The order confirmation The same information will be sent to your email address. The confirmation includes the software order numbers. You will need this order number to follow on the shipment. You can track your orders on another website – Link under order update right hand menu.

  27. Problem with Order Update ? • Error 1317:IBM records show that there are no valid subscriptions on the machine serial number you selected. If you feel the IBM records for your model are incorrect, please contact your IBM sales representative. • Please check SWMA status on menu SWMA Inv. • Error 4006: No updates available for the selected system • Products on the machine are already in the highest version release available. Please check the key on Key Management. • The SWMA available for your system doesn’t support higher version release.

  28. View Entitlement View ePoe or Electronic Proof of Entitlement: Click on View/print to see more information as : Version, order and number.

Transfer of ePoE • Step 1: Select transfer from customer/hardware serial number and click on the arrow button. • A list of all ePoEs available on the transfer from Machine is displayed at the bottom of the page as well as the epoes on blank (linked to the selected customer number) • Step 2: Select transfer to target customer number/hardware serial number. • Step 3: Select the ePoE(s) to be transferred and click on the Continue button.

  30. The Applet connection : • What is the applet ? • You need to have administrator access and sign on to the IBM i Machine source in order to proceed with the transfer. This insures thatyou have the authorizations required to make the transfer. • When do I see the applet ? • The product to be transferred is key protected and the Epoe to be transferred has a different customer number than the machine target ( and a different affiliate number) • More information can be found in the help section.

  31. What to remember when make a transfer through the website : • Both source machine and target machine should be registered under the same customer number or affiliate number OR the user should have admin access to the IBM i source machine. • IBM i/OS and per processor ( product 57XX-SS1 5050 and 5051, 5052, 5053) are not transferralbe via the web. Contact customer support for further information. • Per user ( 5733-QU2, 5761-WDS...) products are not transferrable on the web. Please contact Customer support to request the transfer. • You can transfer Epoe from one Hardware serial number to another or transfer to none (blank) so the Epoes will only be link to your customer number and ready to transfer to another machine if you are making replacement of one of your IBM i machine. • If you would like to see the list of ePoE(s) that might be assigned on blank hardware serial number, select the customer number and ”none” option.

  32. KEY MANAGEMENT (IBM i only) • You can : • View the keys for a selected machine. • Download the keys and save the file on your computer. • Install the keys directly to the IBMi machine ( need admin access and connection to the IBM i machine) • Send the keys ( it will be send to your email address registered with your user ID) • Note : Lpar machine : only show the 3 highest levels. • Ex: Machine at V6r1, only V6r1,V5r4 and V5r3 keys will be available on the website.

  33. DOWLOADS – ESD (IBM i and AIX ) • Use the help section for guidance into downloading and installing the software. • Important: • The download option for IBM i is based on the ePoes. If there is no Epoe the product will not show up in the list of products. • Currently only V5r4 and V6r1 are available for download. Earlier Version and Release are not available on the website. • The download option for IBM AIX is based on the SWMA available for a machine.

  34. Step 1: Select customer number/hardware serial number and click on GO

  35. Step 2: Select the product(s) you would like to download and click on continue. • Note: It is possible to select also out of service products and download the withdrawn products if that are still availble (IBM i only)

  36. Step 3:Select the product packagesyou would like to download.

  37. Step 4: Terms and conditions. To begin downloading, click the I agree button below. By clicking I agree you agree that you have had the opportunity to review the terms and conditions for all products you are downloading and that such terms and conditions govern this transaction. Select I disagree to exit or cancel to return to the previous page.

  38. Step 5: Start Download. Estimated download time for the selected SW is displayed 2 download options: Download Director: Use of applet, single-click to download entire package, pause/resume capabilities HTTP: Each package to be downloaded individually, no pause/resume capabilities

  39. 5. SWMA RECORDS (IBM i and AIX) On this page you can check the status of the Software Maintenance Agreement on your IBM i and AIX machines. Step 1: Select customer number/hardware serial number and click on GO Step 2: The list of available SWMAs is displayed. STATUS = ACTIVE = INACTIVE

  40. To view detail information about the SWMA, click on the product ID. You can find valid information as system number, supported release, affiliate number..

  41. For IBM AIX you can click on ”View Supply” to access the supply features available for this machine. You will have the list of software products available according to the SWMA.
