RIZAL Health Committee • FEEDING Program Backgrounder : It has been identified thru the Makati City Nutrition Council that students at elementary levels specially Grades 1 – 3 have low nutritional conditions making it one of the main causes of students poor performance in school Objective : Improve health conditions of daycare and kinder students thru nutrition educational and feeding for a period of 6 months Target # of pupils – 70 Daycare - 60 Kinder Things to Do : * Identify baseline weight of students at 0 month * Feeding to be conducted three/week (M-W-F) * Meals to be presented to RCMJPR before the start of the program for approval. This would include nutritional content and food value per meal * RCMJPR with Rotaract will be the point person to monitor the program with the help of BNS/BHV * Monitor program every month thru weight analysis with the help of Brgy Nutritionist – Mam Cecille * To submit to RCMJPR final report within 1 month after the 6th month period for evaluation and analysis

RIZAL Cost Estimate : P800 x 3 / week __________ P2,400 / week x 24 weeks ( 6 months ) __________ P 57,600 ( Total cost estimate ) * Ms Jo Constantino was able to get donations for sack of rice for this program ( cost estimate will be lessened with this is donation ) * Materials to be used such as cooking utensils and gas range will be provided by Brgy Kasilawan thru their Livelihood Center * Menu with corresponding nutritional content to follow ( to be submitted before the start of the program

  9. Rotary Club MakatiJOSE P. RIZAL Clean Water Committee Backgrounder : The Kinder Class of Barangay Kasilawan is under the supervision of DEP ED – Makati. In the past, the PTA is the one responsible for the needs of students like special projects and programs with the support of the Barangay. The Barangay also provided them with a new facility conducive for learning. Unfortunately, the new facility lacks a new drinking water system Objective : To provide 1 water dispenser for the Kinder class of Barangay Kasilawan as school requirement for a clean , safe and potable drinking water Target # of pupils – 60 Things to do : * Require students to bring their own water bottle daily * PTA will shoulder the refillable water supply * Maintenance of the dispenser will be shouldered by the Barangay

  10. Rotary Club MakatiJOSE P. RIZAL Literacy Committee – “BOOKS FROM THE SEAS” Backgrounder : The students of the Daycare and Kinder are ages 3 -5 years of age. In one of our visits to the new facility, we have seen that the educational materials being used no longer catches the curiosity of the students thus the teacher experiences diffuculty in stimulating the students interests Objective : To improve the learning process that the school is currently providing, RCMJPR will be donating educational toys and books for the Daycare and Kinder Target # of pupils – 60 Kinder - 70 Daycare Things to do : * Identify materials needed by the students by coordinating with teachers – Mam Carmen and Mam Marissa

  18. Rotary Club MakatiJOSE P. RIZAL Literacy Committee – “ ROTARY CORNER “ Backgrounder : The Barangay Library was recently relocated at the newly renovated Barangay Multi purpose hall. And our latest visit showed that it needs additional materials such as shelves, books, visual aids, CDs and DVDs to promote better learning to the students of Barangay Kasilawan Objective : To update the library for the students of Barangay Kasilawan by donating shelves, books and other educational materials such as CDs and DVDs Target # of students - 300 Things to do : * Identify reading and visual materials needed by the constituents thru our Rotaract/Interact group * Barangay Kasilawan committed to place a ROTARY corner to that library * Rotaract/Interact will conduct a regular Story telling acitivy in that library to complement and continue with our project

RIZAL Livelihood Committee “ KARUNUNGANG PANGKABUHAYAN “ Backgrounder : With the current financial crisis, a lot lost their jobs and it is high time to provide skills enhancement programs to provide other sources of income by putting up their own businesses Objective : To provide the skills for sewing To donate 1 high speed sewing machine Things to do : * Be able to recruit 15 students for a 6 month training * Barangay Kasilawan will provide the venue for the said training * RCMJPR will provide the trainor for the said activity
