A team led by the graceful yet aggressive Indian legend Anil Kumble Owned by business magnate Dr Vijay Mallya..cannot think of a better person who deserves such a brilliant team. Sir, Thank You for RCB and FORCE INDIA

  4. ANIL KUMBLE (Jumbo) He is currently the leading wicket-taker for India in both Tests and ODIs. With over 600 wickets in Tests, he is the third highest wicket taker behind Shane Warne and MuthiahMuralitharan. He is one of only two bowlers in Test history to have taken all 10 wickets in an innings. Winner of the Arjuna Award in 1995 and a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1996, Kumble was among the 16 cricketers short listed for the Wisden Indian Cricketer of the 20th Century, in 2000. A PadmaShriawardee in 2005, Kumble is among the most respected cricketers in the game. Kumble is armed with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  5. Rahul Dravid (The Wall) Dravid is a modern-day cricketing legend. Wisden Cricketer of the Year 2000 and the latest member of the 10,000 run club, Dravid’s brilliance has steered him to some amazing feats in the cricket world. He is the only batsman in Test history to score a century in every Test-playing nation in the world, the only Indian to score five double hundreds in Tests (three of them in the same season - 2003-04), the only Indian to score three Test double hundreds on foreign soil and the only Indian to score hundreds in four consecutive Test innings. Having played over 100 Tests and more than 300 ODIs, Dravid is ready game for yet another battle - the IPL Twenty-20 Championship.

  6. Manish Pandey He will always be remembered as the first Indian to score a century in the IPL. In one night, the 19-year-old went from being Karnataka’s next big Ranji hope to entering the record books as he hit his way to the highest Twenty20 score by an Indian. Pandey has always been a free-scoring aggressive middle-order batsman and an athletic fielder. He scored two half-centuries in his first two Ranji Trophy matches, in the 2008-09 season. He came to be well-regarded in the KSCA league, represented Karnataka at the Under-17 and Under-19 levels, and was always marked for a Ranji cap. He also represented India in the U-19 World Cup in 2008, though he didn’t get many chances to play on that winning side.

  7. Vinay Kumar He represents the state of Karnataka. He is a Right-arm medium fast bowler and a hard hitter. He did his schooling at MothiVeerappa Government School, Davanagere, Karnataka and completed his B.Com from ARG College of Arts and Commerce, Davanagere, Karnataka. He was the second-highest wicket taker (with 40) in the 2007-08 Ranji Trophy.

  8. Virat Kohli This stylish right hander was the captain of the Indian cricket team that won the 2008 U/19 Cricket World Cup tournament in Malaysia. A super cool, level-headed all-rounder, Kohli represents Delhi in first-class cricket and has a penchant for big scores. He was the second Indian U-19 captain to win the World Cup and he made 235 runs during India’s unbeaten campaign in Malaysia.

  9. Dale Steyn An aggressive out-and-out fast bowler capable of bowling at speeds in excess of 145 kmph, Steyn can generate late swing. He loves the “buzz from bowling fast” and aims to become the quickest bowler in the world. Some of the Royal Challengers who are part of the Indian team got to know what he meant by that in the recent SA-India test match held at Ahmedabad. Steyn is the fastest South African to reach 100 wickets in Test matches, a feat he achieved on 2nd March 2008 in his 20th match.

  10. Jacques Kallis Hailing from South Africa, he’s been claimed as the World’s Top Cricketer of the Year 2007 by Wisden. Kallis is a talented right-handed batsman and an effective fast-medium bowler, being the only cricketer to score more than 9,000 runs, bag 200 wickets and pouch 100 catches in both Tests and ODIs. From October to December of 2007, he produced a remarkable streak of five centuries in 4 Tests. With 30 Test centuries to his credit, Kallis has established himself as one of the modern greats of the game. He was pivotal to South Africa winning the ICC Champions Trophy title in 1998 with two man-of-the-match and the player-of-the-series performances. Kallis currently holds a number of South African cricket records, including most ODI and Test runs, highest ODI and second highest Test batting average and most Test centuries. With a remarkable batting average of over 58, he is rated as one of the best batsmen in the world.

  11. Praveen Kumar Hailing from a family of wrestlers, Praveen Kumar is one of the heroes of the 2008 India-Australia-Sri Lanka tri-series Down Under. A right-arm medium pace bowler, who relies on his ability to swing the ball, he is most effective with a new ball. Besides being a fine opening bowler, he is also an effective and aggressive pinch hitter.

  12. Ross Taylor Captained the New Zealand Under-19 team in the youth internationals where he scored 132 in the State Shield in 2003-2004, and 184 in the State Championship in 2004-2005. Ross Taylor made his debut for New Zealand in March 2006, in an ODI against the West Indies. He became the second player of Samoan descent to play for New Zealand. Taylor has been a dominant batsman on the domestic scene for the past couple of seasons. He is a clean striker of the ball and an effective off-break bowler.

  13. Robin Uthappa Robin Uthappa made his One Day International debut in the seventh and final match of the English tour of India in April 2006. He had a successful debut, making 86 as an opening batsman before being run out. It was the highest score for any Indian debutant in a limited overs match. He is also named ‘The Walking Assassin’ Uthappa first came to the public’s attention when he made 66 for India B against India A in the Challenger Trophy in 2005. The following year, in the same tournament, Uthappa made a match winning 93-ball century. Previously, he had been a member of the India under-19 team that won the Asia Cup. Once a wicketkeeper-batsman, his List A batting average of near 40 with a strike rate of approximately 90 has made him regarded as something of a limited overs cricket specialist.

  14. Dillon Du Preez Dillon du Preez, born November 8, 1981 in Port Elizabeth is a South African cricketer. He currently plays for RC, as well as another club called the eagles. He is a right-arm fast bowler and bats right-handed. His interest in cricket began after attending a cricketing academy managed by international cricketers Corrie van Zyl and Rudi Steyn. In 2009, du Preez signed up with RC, making his debut against the Mumbai Indians on May 3, 2009.

  15. Abhimanyu Mithun AbhimanyuMithun is a right-arm medium pace bowler and a right hand batsman. He played for RCB during the IPL 2009 match against Mumbai Indians on 10th May 2009. Mithun delivered a sensational performance at his Ranji Trophy debut during the Karnataka versus Uttar Pradesh match on 6th November 2009. He claimed an 11 wicket match-haul - including a hat-trick in the 2nd innings, allowing Karnataka to win by 185 runs.

  16. Cameron White Cameron White came into the limelight as an unorthodox leg-spinner from Australia, but shaped up his career as a high voltage all-rounder. Currently drafted into the Australian team as a specialist ODI and T20 cricketer, White bowls regular leg spin but varies his pace frequently and also extracts lot of bounce from the wicket because of his height. Cameron also supplements the team, with some neat batting; a strike rate of around 140 bears testimony to that. He led the Victoria Bushrangers in the T20 Champions League and also in the Australian Domestic T20 league.

  17. Balachandra Akhil BalachandraAkhil is a useful allrounder - medium-pacer and middle-order bat - for Karnataka. He came into the spotlight during the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy in 1995 before graduating in 1998 to the state senior side, where he has remained as a fixture. Though he has a moderate record in first-class and List A games, he boasts a strike-rate hovering around 150 and enviable bowling figures in Twenty20s. This primarily why he was picked for the Bangalore Royal Challengers in the Indian Premier League.

  18. Nayan Doshi Although NayanDilipDoshi was born in England and raised in London, he made his first-class debut in India for Saurashtra in 2001-02. He is the son of DilipDoshi, who is a former Indian Test bowler. Doshi, a left arm spin bowler, first played for Surrey in June 2004, after already playing for Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy.NayanDoshi is currently the world’s second-placed Twenty20 wicket taker, having taken 59 wickets from 39 matches.

  19. Why I am a RCBian… Royal Challengers of Bangalore is the best cricket club as it has the ideal mixture of experienced and young budding cricketers. This correlation facilitates a vigor and enthusiasm which is ideal for the game of T20 Plus it has all my favourite players who I never imagined, till I saw it happen, would be playing together on the big stage. Thank You RCB for making my dreams come true.
