  2. The sighting of the new moon at the end of Ramadan signals the celebration of Eid ul-Fitr.

  3. Like in Pakistan, Eid ul Fitr is celebrated in other cultures throughout the world.

  4. Sighting the Moon! People all around the world go outside to sight the moon the ushers in Eid ul Fitr.

  5. EID HAS COME! Religious officials around Africa and the rest of the Islamic world tell the people that Eid has come!

  6. Where do they go?! Muslim people of the world dress in their best cloths to go to the mosque to pray!

  7. SHOPPING! In the Islamic world, women shop for new curtains, sitting room covers, cloths, and other new objects for the household before Eid ul Fitr to preparefor the celebration!

  8. Visiting! The Muslim people visit friends and family’s houses to eat elaborate meals.

  9. Sahran Africa celebates Eid ul Fitr in its own unique way!

  10. HOW DID IT COME! The Umayyad’s brought Islam to Africa during the 7th and 8th centuries but was effectively spread by the Berbers, native people of Africa. This effective spread permanently left a deep impression on Africa and extended the umma.

  11. Modern day Muslims follow the Sunni precedent established long ago

  12. Turkey has its own unique way to practice Islam

  13. Modern Turkish Islam! Turkish Islamic leaders and followers are surprisingly liberal. Turkish Muslims are much more progressive compared to the rest of the Middle East.

  14. Turkey in the Past! Although unknown, it is said the Turkish people became Muslim because of the spread through the Abbasids of the Seljuk Turkish conversion.

  15. The Filipinos celebrate Eid in a unique style

  16. Philipino Culture! Filipinos call Eid ul Fitr Hari-Raya Puasa Men wear white head pieces Women wear white flowering dresses

  17. FESTIVALS! Filipino people come together in joyous masses to celebrate!

  18. What have we learned! Although Eid ul Fitr is celebrated in a similar way around the world, cultural influences make each celebration different.
