What Wolves Eat • Wolves usually try to eat the sick old or young elk, but every once in a while will go for a fresher one. • In summer ,when elk migrate, wolves can eat on mice birds or fish. • Other than just carrying meat to the den, wolves feed their pups by regurgitating whatever is left from their meal.

  4. How Much Prey is Left • Elk- 426(2010) 214(Now) • Moose -15 per state(mid 1800’s)25 per sq mile Elk lose their habitat easily because they live in forests, which are cut down easily. They have a hard time finding a new home. Moose usually live in mountains where it’s harder to lose habitat. This helps their pop. go up.
