  2. STATUS ON VACANCIES * Although it is the intention to fill all vacancies in Mine Health and Safety, the target may not necessarily be achieved due to the prevailing attraction and retention challenges.

  3. CHALLENGES Attraction and retention of appropriate skills particularly in Mine Health and Safety Inspectorate. Resolution 3 of 2009 - based on this resolution, there is no difference between the inspector and senior inspector positions in terms of salary levels, therefore, it makes it difficult to fill senior inspector positions.

  4. Circular to go to managers on an ongoing basis reminding them of the urgency to have their departmental vacancies filled. • Proactive measures have been put in place in HR to expedite the selection processes. STRATEGY
