  1. Latin American and European Cooperation on lnnovation and Entrepreneurship

  2. The lnternational Office of Uppsala University (UU) and Uppsala University lnnovation (UUI) is preparing a proposal for an Erasmus+ capacity building project (Key Action2) in the category D of the regional priority defined by the European Commission for Latin America

  3. 2 1 Strengthening of relations between higher education and the wider economic and social environment Developing the higher education sector within society at large

  4. We are forming a consortium of 3 European universities, 3 from Brazil, 3 from Argentina and 2 from Uruguay bringing together experts from European innovation and tech-transfer offices with their Latin American colleagues to facilitate an exchange of knowledge and good practice in teaching innovation and entrepreneurship to students, staff and teachers.

  5. The project will address two overall objectives identified as regional priorities for LA: University-enterprise cooperation, entrepreneurship and employability of graduate students Knowledge triangle, innovation (reinforcing links between education, research and business)

  6. Erasmus+ capacity building Capacity building projects (Erasmus +, Key Action 2) are transnational cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between higher education institutions (HEI) in Europe and outside of Europe. They aim at using HEls as a vector to deliver the knowledge requirements for economic development through job creation, better governance, increased entrepreneurship and mobility, and a stronger civil society. The duration is 2 or 3 years with a budget between 500.000 and 1.000.000 Euro for staff, travel, accommodation, equipment and subcontracting.

  7. Based on the conversations and detailed needs analysis of the LA partner universities, the proposal has identified a number of specific objectives

  8. 1 2 3 4 5 Promote the innovation capacities of the partner universities in a defined number of shared and strategic areas (e.g. biotechnology, health, ecology/bio-diversity, nano technology, etc. Strengthen the way universities engage with businesses and the regional, national and international economy Share experiences and develop solutions for integrating entrepreneurship modules systematically into the curriculum (focus on new subjects) Develop strategies for creating a university-wide awareness for innovation and entrepreneurship Facilitate an intercultural exchange of ideas and methods in teaching entrepreneurship and innovation to students, staff and teachers

  12. WORK PACKAGES Capacity building projects are structured in work packages. WP 1 {Preparation), WP 5 (Quality), WP 6 (Disseminantion&Exploitation) and WP 7 (Management) are standard WPs. WPs 2-4 are the so called development work packages in which the main activities happen. The list of WPs does not reflect the chronology of the project. The project will run for 3 years, some WPs run throughout the whole lifetime of the project (e.g. management, quality), some might start later or finish earlier.

  13. WP 1 Preparation The first WPs runs for the first couple of months to initiate the project management. The main activities are signing all legal documents and organize a first meeting. In cooperation with one LA partner, we will host a 3-day kick-off meeting during which the consortium will get to know each other, present their team and universities and discuss the organizations and plans for the project. We will facilitate group session during which all partner will be able to discuss the tapie and discuss their contribution. We will also develop a project management charta. • Activities: • Signing of Grant Agreement (UU and EACEA) and Partnership Agreements (UU with all partners) • Kick-off meeting (in LA) • EACEA meeting in Brussel {UU as coordinator and one LA partner) • Outputs: Grant agreement, Partnership agreement, Project management Charta

WP 2 University-lndustry Relations (AIMday) In the first development WPs, Uppsala University lnnovation will present the AIMday as a method to engage universities with enterprises and vice versa. • Activities: • Workshop: "Train the Trainer" for AIMday (in LA) • Recording of Training Videos • Mentoring webinars for AIMday events in LA • Evaluation and Analysis of AIMdayevents • Concluding meeting In Uppsala, Outreach Day • Outputs: AIMday manual, AIMday events, evaluation study WP

  15. WP 3 Entrepreneurship Teaching Modules • Activities: • Conference: Exchange of good practice in teaching entrepreneurial skills (EU) • Workshop: "Train the Trainer" for development of innovation and entrepreneurship modules with international component (LA) • Mentoring webinars for module development • Case studies: lnternational student cooperation projects as pilots/tests (all partners) • Outputs: case study examples for website, drafts for entrepreneurship modules

WP 4 The Entrepreneurial University • Activities: • Conference: Strategies for an entrepreneutial university (Top-management) • Workshop: Exchange of good practice in creating a "spirit of innovation&entrepreneurship” throughout universities • Outputs: internal manuals, eBook summary of activities, ...
