  1. Presentation Preparation You need to: • Organize your materials (posters, laptops, sound systems, binder, box, …) • Plan the look of your presentation • Look organized • Test any media • Be set up and ready to go at least 5 minutes early (media already tested, materials already organized…)

  2. First Impressions count • Dress • Smile • Eye contact • Greeting and thanks to the panellists • Handshake? • Enthusiasm and confidence • Address panellists by name (they will wear name-tags!) • Use professional language

  3. Where do you begin? • Where have you been? • Talk about your journey up to now • What has made you the person you are today? (your passions, your focus…) • Where are you now? • Talk about your present goals, values, plans, learning, aspirations… • Who are you? What defines you as a person? What are you most proud of? • Where are you going? • Connect your GTP to your future • Where are you going in life?

  4. Lasting Impressions • Closure is as important as your opening • Summary, final words of wisdom, the journey continues beyond today • Thank the panellists • Celebrate! The PAC will have some treats for you in the Den.

  5. Guiding Questions for Presentation 1 What did you do? • What evidence did you choose to present? • What is there about your evidence that you are most proud? • How does your evidence show who you are?

  6. Guiding Questions for Presentation • What did you learn from it? • Why did you select this evidence? • What are the personal connections that your evidence represents? (feelings/emotions, personal experiences, issues, level of satisfaction/feeling of accomplishment…)

  7. Guiding Questions for Presentation 3 How will this help you in your future? • Where are you going from here? (employment, career choices, life choices, post secondary, education, training…) • How can you build on your GTP after grade 12?

  8. When you leave here: • Practice, practice, practice • Time yourself • Plan your sequencing • Plan your closure You will have 10 minutes.

  9. What else? • There will be a debriefing session at the end of your Presentation (approx. 5 minutes) • We will be photographing the Presentations • Grade 11 students will be observing
