  4. ESONET NoE Demonstration Missions budget • - Total DMOs budget: 2.7 M€ • - 1st call: 1.8 M€ (3x 500 + 300 k€) • - remaining budget for DMOs: 0.9 € • 2 proposals 450 k€ each?   9. Eligible costs for Esonet and for DMS • For Esonet (FP6 NoEs) -Equipment cost is not eligible -subcontracting cost is eligible but with important restrictions (see FP6 financial rules) • For DMs, 2nd call: • Equipment cost is not eligible • Subcontracting cost is not eligible for Dmo grant

Eligible costs for Esonet DMs • Exemple of eligible costs • Personnel cost • Permanent + non permanent for FC and FCF partners • Non permanent for AC partners • Consumables + reconditionning of sensors (calibration, test, batteries, computers, small cables, etc…according to a limited amount *) • Travels and accommodations • Send of material on board (services …) * See rules of your institute to check what is consumable and what is equipment

DMs selection process • Read carefully the call AND the guide for applicants • Send your proposal in pdf format at the good Email address (no to esonet-coordinator) (you can overwrite your proposal with a new one if needed) • Verify that you receive an acknowledgement by 2 days. • Be strict with the deadline

DMs selection process • After the deadline, the proposals will be sent to at least 3 external referees (non european) • Then referee’s report will be synthethized by Esonet chair persons of the 3 councils • Data management council • Scientific council • Test and operation council • Discussion and negotiation in SC meeting • Final selection published • Signature of grant Agreements including financial table and implementation plan.

Proposal preparation • 2 Forms: FORM A + FORM B = one pdf file < 10 MB Form A= administrative form Form B= more a template including financial statements • 1 leader/coordinator/contact person per proposal • Project structured in WPs means that you can then decide of several leaders per topic, for instance one for Oceano, one for Geophysic, 1 for data management, 1 for operation at Sea, 1 for ….

Proposal preparation • Important points to address • Integrating activities: European level integrating at least 3 Esonet partners (a strict minimum) • New concept/technology • Water column + seafloor • Structure of the project (who’s doing what?) • Agenda • Request of shiping time? • Financial scheme splitted in categories (personnel cost, travel and accommodation, subcontracting, equipement, others) and per partner + total. Give information on other financial support. NB: even if equipment is not eligible for reimbursement you can show that you will support this cost and that the grant will not be used for its refund
