  1. VOLUME 3, ISSUE 1 SEPTEMBER 2012 Welcome Back Moyer Mustangs! Ruth Moyer Elementary School PTO’sMustang Minutes Fort Thomas, KYwww.fortthomas.kyschools.us Message from Mr. Haskamp PTO UPDATES Mustang Minutes I wanted to take a moment to welcome all of you back to school. I cannot believe how unbelievably fast this year is going! It has been a wonderful transition to Ruth Moyer and I am so humbled by this experience. I must say that I am totally impressed with three things; the dedication of our students, parents, and teachers. All three of these groups are working in unison to make the year go like clockwork. I am impressed daily by the parental involvement our parents are showing through volunteerism. What a fine example you are putting in place for your children! I am impressed with the enthusiasm and passion for learning that is coming from our students. They truly are ready to learn every day! Finally, I am so pleased with the professionalism and dedication of the teachers. They have made a culture and climate that is welcoming and has learning at its heart! Again, welcome back and thank you for working with your children and our teachers to make this experience a memorable one! THANK YOU!!!! Thanks to Keri Welch and the crew who helped make the first day of school memorable for all our Moyer kids!! Even though it rained the names in chalk on the sidewalk looked great! These volunteers included Krista Baioni, Karen Sower, Gail Rom, Michele Deal, Katie Moreno, Tonya Tierney, Misty Clark, Christina McKenzie, Lorrie & Rachel Greene, Tracy Mead Stave, KristanVennefron, Brenda Vinson, Tara Henry and Katherine Ross. PICTURE PERSON HELP PLEASE!!!! We are still in need of a volunteer from each of the following classrooms for picture person: Mrs. Kinsella, Mrs. Malone, Mrs. Beimesche, Mrs. Wind, Mrs. Graves, Mrs. C. Kendall, Mrs. Heilman, and Mr. Winkler. Picture person is a PTO sponsored art program in which a parent presents an art lesson in class for 20-30 minutes each month. The lessons are all set up for you. In October you will be able to help the class with a project for Santa house. No need to have an art background. Please contact Tonya Tierney if you are interested at tierney03@yahoo.com. We need at least one volunteer per class. Feel free to find another parent to share this with. We would hate for a class to miss out on having these lessons.

  2. Back to School–Back to Scrip Purchasing!!! Scrip is a fabulous program that everyone can participate in to help the PTO raise money for the school. All it takes is a little bit of planning. Just take a moment to think about the things your family does on a weekly basis. Have you recently: • Refueled a car with gas • Stopped to pick up coffee • Bought a gift for an upcoming event • Shopped for groceries • Dined out • Had your hair cut • Stopped for ice cream • These are all opportunities for you to earn money for Moyer by purchasing Scrips and then using them. Almost everywhere we go and everything we do presents an opportunity to support the school. You name it, we have a gift certificate for it! Please complete a Scrip form (http://www.fortthomas.kyschools.us/docs/SCRIP%20Worksheet%20100410-1%20Sheet1.pdf), include payment and send it in with your child in an envelope marked “Scrip”. We will then send the order home with your child. • It is that easy!!! For additional information or questions, • please contact Kathleen Groeschen, keg2@cdc.gov Earn Money For Moyer!!
