  1. PPD Divisional Master Planning Task Force (aka. the PPD Facility Decadal Survey) • The Charge • Qualities of a Great Facility • The Outcome of this Task Force • Our Current Facilities

  2. The Charge to Our Science Advisors • What are the up-and-coming critical experiments within PPD’s • mission for the next Decade ? • High Energy Frontier Whitmore, Lipton, Liu • High Intensity Frontier • (Precision Physics) Casey, Brice, Plunkett • Cosmic Frontier Estrada, Bauer, Ramberg • Anybody can chose to consider any frontiers • What facilities do we no longer need ? • What facilities should we develop ? Consider the price range $2M - $50M.

  3. Qualities of a GREAT Facility (our take) • Is recognized as leader in the field • Is unique • Is collaborative with qualified university community and other labs • Is State-of-the Art and designed by professionals • Provides training and is sustainable for future generations • Has an intellectually vibrant and healthy working environment

  4. A Possible Outcome of this Task Force • A set of recommendations to Mike. • Approval from Mike to proceed with FESS-level conceptual development. • Directorate Approval and Funding for Construction.
