  2. Processing library books can be a tedious, time consuming, and labor intensive procedure. In an effort to save time, we have been contracting processing and cataloging services through our book vendors; but, some steps still need to be completed by library personnel.

  3. Steps for processing materials. Inspection :The material should be examined for any physical defects such as (e.g. damaged covers or folded/torn pages). If a book or other item purchased by the library is defective, it can usually bereturned. However, sometimes it will not be accepted for return by the vendorif it has beenproperty stamped. When ordering school library stamp, please include your school name and the district, Mission CISD. Identification : Most libraries label their materials with some form of permanent identification that gives the name of the library and its address. Identification is done to discourage theft and to ensure that lost library materials are returned to the library from which they originated. At MCISD, each campus library should have property stamps with this information. 1.Books are stamped inside the front cover2. The center of the verso/title page3. The inside of the back cover.
