  2. What is taught… 1. State And District Wide Standards 6th Grade Physical Education Content Standards 2. Sport Skills (Dodge/Flee/Chase, Volley Skills, Strike/Catch, Dribble/Pass/Score, Track and Field…) 3. Fitness Skills (Presidential/National Awards, Lifelong Fitness Activities) 4. Fridays are always devoted to fitness. 5. Other days of the week focus on set units.

  3. How we grade… 50% Participation Be respectful, prepared, and active. Remain on task and follow rules and procedures. Give YOUR personal best 50% Fitness/Skills Tests and Written Work

  4. Medical Notes… If your child cannot participate in the daily PE activities, they must bring a parent or doctor’s note to the health office.

  5. What if students are absent? Complete 2 laps at the track upon return.

  9. CONTENT • The Curricular Wheel consists of 3 separate sections: Study Skills, Self Discovery and Health/Nutrition Education Art! Project Alert

  10. ABSENCES • Responsible to ask what needs to be made up when they return. • Very little homework assignments or assessments given, but it is important for students to keep up with the content within the class. • Occasionally students will take home and complete any project and turn it in the following day. • Any late assignments will count as half credit.

  11. GRADES: Students will be graded as they would be in any other class. Grades are divided into 2 sections: • Participation – 50% • Classwork and Skills – 50% * Art is more of a subjective unit and will be graded on effort more so than artistic ability. I realize that not everyone is naturally artistic.
