  3. Aim of Study We want to find out: • How does triad society become one of the most popular features of HK cinema? • How do the movies reflect HK people’s lives in different decades?

Background of History- Triad Society • 1760s : Tian Di Hui -> San He Hui • After 1949 : Migrated southwards to Hong Kong for the continuance of their business • 1960s -1970s : The triad problems were worsen • 1974 :ICAC was established -> abated police corruption -> Triads turned to underground dealings • 21st century : Around 57 triad societies in HK
