Span > 1 lan segment Routable because they carry L3 info that can be interpreted by a router. Need > 1 protocol multi-protocol network

    5. 5 TCP/IP Compared to the OSI Model Application layer roughly corresponds to Application and Presentation layers Transport layer roughly corresponds to Session and Transport layers Internet layer is equivalent to the Network layer Network Interface layer roughly corresponds to Data Link and Physical layers

    6. 6 TCP/IP and the OSI Model WINSOCK API, FTP, TFTP, HTTP, SMTP, DHCP TCP, UDP IP, ICMP, ARP Formatting of data and transmission to the wire
