Iowa CTG Goal Improve statewide awareness for clinical prevention screenings and healthy lifestyle behaviors through consistent messaging in public health, primary health care, business, and community settings; and to create community-based strategies for systems and environmental changes in a 26 county subgroup to improve access for healthy opportunities.

  5. Strategic Direction II: Active Living and Healthy Eating Healthy Eating in Worksites Increase the number of worksitesproviding healthy food and beverage options through procurement practices or healthy meetings policies.

  6. Strategic Direction II: Active Living and Healthy Eating Healthy Eating in Communities • Increase the number of community locations with improved availability of healthy food and beverage options.

  7. Strategic Direction II: Active Living and Healthy Eating State-level Objectives • Increase the number of school districts and child care centers with healthy food procurement practices. • Increase the number of Iowa counties covered under a comprehensive food systems plan. • Increase the number of public places to include state buildings, rest areas, and state parks that decrease the proportion of sugar-sweetened beverages offered and increase the number of healthy food options using the NEMS-V criteria.
