  1. The Employers Guide to Training Providers www.egtp.co.uk

  2. A Partnership Approach • The South London Learning Partnership formed a steering group made up of Jobcentre plus, NextStep, LearnDirect, Business Link for London, Croydon College, South London Business and the LSC to guide the project. • Working with South London Business we surveyed 100 businesses in London South to gauge their views and experiences of training. The survey directed the project to make sure the Employers Guide to Training Providers addressed the training needs of business.

  3. What will you find on the Website?

  4. The Home Page

  5. Finding the Training • Employers can search for the training they need by Business/Sector/Training Subject, Postcode, borough or type of course (e.g. part-time) • The search will usually return a list of providers. (this page can be printed to show the individual provider pages as a brief directory) • Employers can then use the contact details or link to the provider website for more information • If the search results do not match the employers requirements there is a link to LearnDirect and Business Link for more course options

  6. Search Results

  7. Provider Information • The provider information is essential to employers, we need to be aware of what they are looking for. There is limited space so it should be used to advantage • General course information • Some content information • Some qualification information

Links to Sector information • Links are available on the website to the SSDA and Sector Skills Councils as well as links to other business support organisations. • The business relationships we currently have are with Chambers of Commerce, TUC, Sector Skills Councils, Sector Skills Development Agency, London Development Agency, we are looking to develop further links with IoD, CBI, Federation of Small Businesses

  10. Statistics • Statistics we can use to support providers • Most frequently accessed providers • Most frequently printed provider pages • Most frequently accessed business sectors/training subjects

  11. Moving Forward Planned Changes • Redesign the home page • Develop the Employer Exchange to be a forum • Improve the feedback on the site • Allow providers to detail their latest information. • Expand the providers accessible on the site through accredited bodies and Sector Skills Councils • Develop Employer feedback information to support providers • Use website statistics e.g. most popular business areas/sectors/training subjects as a strategic tool
