  3. What Equipment you need for playing netball? • You need a netball • You need 2 netball rings at either end to shoot the goals • You need a netball court to play on • You also need a set of bibs there are ga, gs, gk, gk, wa, wdand centre.

  4. What do the positions mean? • GA- means goal attack and you have to stay in the centre third and your teams goal ring and shoot goals. • Gs- means goal shooter gs works with ga to shoot the goals but only stays in the one third. • Gd- means goal defence plays against ga and defends up the other end of the court. Also rebounding shots that have been missed by the other team.

  5. Gk- means goal keeper which defends gs and gets the rebounds of the ball if the goal is missed. Also gk takes the throw ins from the sideline and the baseline. Gk closely works with gd in the goal ring. • C- means centre which is the hardest position in the game. Centre delivers the centre pass, Closely defends opposition. But is allowed everywhere except the two goal circles. • Wa- means wing attack wa obtains the centre pass. Wa also works with the C, GA, and GS on attacking strategies.

  6. Wd- means wing defence wd makes attacking moves to get the ball to the goal third. Takes throw ins penalty passes and free passes in the centre third

  7. Rules of netball • A goal can only be shot from goal attack or goal shooter and must be taken from inside the goal circle. • A player can not accidently or deliberately come into contact with another player. • To put your arms up to defend you must be three feet otherwise you will get put out of play which means you have to stand next to your opponent until the ball is thrown again. • A player must only have the ball for three seconds otherwise it will be called up held ball and go to the other team. • If a player has no contacts with the ball they may move or stand outside the court but if you have the ball you cant. • There must always be room for a third person to move aroundin between the hands of the thrower if not it is called a short pass. • When the ball goes out of the court it goes to an opponent of the team who was last to touch it. Which is called a throw in. • Players must stay in the area they are allowed to play in according to what position they are playing.
