  1. ROLE PLAY • The role play is about communication and exchange of information. It is not the time for a LONG conversation! • You can get full marks for very short answers so don’t risk lengthy answers at this stage. Example: Say when the museum opens. • Le musée ouvre à cinq heures (Good/top marks) • A cinq heures (Still good/top marks)

  2. Role play 1 Your are at a café with your friend • Say you would like an orange juice • Say you would like a beer for your father • Ask if they have any ham sandwiches? • Ask how much it is?

  3. Role play 2 Your are at a fruit/veg shop • Ask what time they close • purchase a quantity of fruit/veg. • Ask for something else. • They have not got what you asked for-respond to the answer

  4. Role play 3 Your are booking a room at a hotel • Ask if they have a room for two nights. • say it’s for two people. • Ask how much it is for a night. • Give your name and spell it.

  5. Key role play sentences • Ask for a return ticket • Attract the attention of a passer-by • Ask where the bakers shop is • Ask where the toilets are • Ask what time the museum opens

Last few tips… • Always wait for your teacher to start the role play • You have four points to get through, keep track of the order, therefore don’t worry if you don’t fully understand what your teacher says. Teacher/you(1)/teacher/you(2)/teacher/you(3)/teacher/you(4)/teacher • If you don’t know, your teacher will move on to the next point so, you must move on too so it makes sense!
