Direction of JICA’s Assistance for Low-Carbon Growth and Sustainable Development in Developing Countries JICA is taking actions to support for climate change measures based on the following principles. Comprehensive Assistance Climate Change, A Global Agenda Climate Compatible Sustainable Development Energy, Transport, Forestry, Waste Management, etc. PDCA Cycle (MRV, etc.) <Mitigation: Low-Carbon Society> • Strategic Mitigation Actions • Low-Carbon Technologies • Efficient Use of Resources, etc. Reduction of GHG Emission Enhancing Adaptive Capacity Equitable Growth Human Security Policy & Infrastructure Reform, Finance Mechanism, Human Resource Development Technical Cooperation Financial Assistance Responding to Climate Change Sustainable Development <Adaptation: Climate Resilient Society> • Modeling/Vulnerability Assessment • Enhancing Adaptive Capacity • Resilient Infrastructure Policy Dialogue Public Private Partnership Research/Studies Disaster Risk Management, Water, Agriculture, Sanitation, etc.
