Today’s Agenda Morning • Analyze test questions on released EOGs • Delve into unpacking documents and standards to create a notes chart • Stations: Close Reading, Co-Teaching Strategies, Annotating, ELA Livebinder, Alignment Project Afternoon • Work with Tech Facilitators to explore digital resources • CCS webpage

  3. Learning Targets • PWBAT analyze test questions for alignment the ELA standards. • PWBAT determine key words in the standards and strategies to meet the standards. • PWBAT locate resources that are aligned to standards.

  5. Analyze a sample question • Which statement summarizes the theme of the selection? • In the sentence below, what does the word shabbily mean? • Which describes the speaker’s point of view about being a butterfly? ***Assume that the passage was fictional.

  6. Matching Standards to Questions You will need: • Released Test (click link in Symbaloo) • Standards (click link in Symbaloo or use ringed papers in table bin) • Question Sheet (folder) With your group: • Label each question with the standard it addresses.

  12. Just a bit of Housekeeping: • We are to teach the standards, not programs. Novels, ReadWorks, the textbook, etc. are tools. • ClassScape is a formative assessment piece. It is not intended for grades. Formative Assessment guides our instruction. ClassScape is used to inform us of where to go next. • How will your formative assessment guide your instruction?

  13. Exploring Resources with Tech Facilitators Numbered groups will meet with a tech facilitator to learn about online resources that align to the standards. Add resources to the Google Doc.
