Standard One NWCCU ObjectivesStandard 1-A – Mission and Goals • Clearly defined mission • Adopted by governing board(s) • Consistent with legal authorization • Appropriate to a degree-granting higher education institution • Purpose is to serve students’ educational interests • Gross income is devoted to support educational mission and goals

  3. Standard One NWCCU ObjectivesStandard 1-B – Planning & Effectiveness • Clearly defined evaluation and planning procedures are systematically applied • Fulfillment of mission and achievement of goals are assessed • Results are periodically published for constituencies

  4. Standard One NWCCU Major Expectations • Official statement of the institutional mission: Indicate how and when it was developed, approved, and communicated to the institution’s constituencies.

  5. Standard One NWCCU Major Expectations • Evidence that demonstrates the analysis and appraisal of institutional outcomes. Examples may include: • Annual goals and assessment of success in their accomplishments; • Studies of alumni and former students; • Studies that indicate degree of success in placing graduates; • Pre- and post-test comparisons of student knowledge, skills, and abilities; and • Surveys of satisfaction – students, alumni, and employees.
