  4. Your Current Situation • Oak Park is unique area • Mary’s Books is one of Chicago’s largest independent bookstores • Open for more than 25 years • Expanded to open 3 additional stores

  5. Your Current Situation (cont.) • Borders is opening a new store in Oak Park • The threat Borders may pose is not only a personal worry, but of great concern to the Oak Park community. • Many vendors would be intimidated and sell • Mary’s Books defend itself/independent stores
