  2. 1st Memorable Quote • “He likes to show off his muscles.” “ I’m gonna show ‘em off on you, little buddy, if you get any mouthier.” • I chose this quote as a quote I liked because it shows Darry’s attitude. It also show s that the reason Darry dresses in tight clothing is because he likes to show off his muscles, and it also makes him look tough during the rumble.

  3. 2nd Memorable Quote • “ I am a greaser,” Sodapop chanted. “ I am a JD and a hood. I blacken the name of a fair city. I beat up people. I rob gas stations. I am a menace to society. Man, d I have fun!” • I chose this quote as a quote I liked because it shows how proud Sodapop is to be a greaser. He is not mad or upset about being a greaser, but instead happy and also very proud.

  4. 3rd Memorable Quote • “ It wasn’t only jealousy- Darry had a right to be jealous; he was ashamed to be on our side, ashamed to b seen with the Brumly boys, maybe even us.” • I chose this as an important quote because Sodapop and Ponyboy think that Darry is ashamed to be representing the greasers. And it was their fault that Darry was a greaser. Darry didn’t want to be a greaser, but had to for his brothers.

  5. 4th Memorable Quote • “ They’re running!” I heard a voice yell joyfully. “Look at the dirty ----- run!” • I chose this as an important quote because whoever said it knew that the greasers had won. They saw the Socs run off. This quote shows that the Greasers won the rumble and ran the Socs out of their territory.

  6. 5th Memorable Quote • “ Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold…..” Johnny died. • I chose this as an important quote because it’s the last thing Johnny said before he died.
