  1. Construction Technology Trends 2017

  2. SMART BUILDINGS These buildings use automated processes to control building operations such as air conditioning, heating, ventilation, lighting, security and other home systems. Using sensors, microchips, and other devices, smart buildings collect data and manage it based on the building’s function.

  3. DETAILED 3D BIM MODELING 3D model-based process for creating and managing project information. This technology may be most associated with the design process, 3D BIM modeling can be used before, during, and after construction. This technology can benefit construction professionals by helping them create better plans, produce faster results, and stay within budget.

  4. Mobile Apps Mobile apps for time tracking, estimating, invoicing, design, material ordering, printing, collaboration, drone control, resource tracking and just about everything else except the actual building are growing in popularity.

  5. UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES UAVs or aerial drones can help construction professionals conduct site surveys or track project progress in real-time by generating aerial photos, maps, and 3D images. This technology is also helpful for ensuring worksite safety and improving productivity.

  6. Holographic Headsets The biggest advantage is that you can design and make alterations in the physical environment where you’ll be building. Although still in their infancy, using holographic headsets in augmented reality could offer real benefits in the form of faster builds with fewer mistakes, resulting in substantial cost efficiencies for builders.
