  2. Internet Activity • Defined as any activity taking place online (United States) • Search Engine History • Browsing History • E-mail communication • Account information • Postings on forums, social networking sites, blogs etc. • Development and employment of software

  3. Types of Internet Crime • Two types (United States) • Crimes that use the internet to attack other computers • ie. Trojan • Using the internet as a means of committing a crime • Ie. Erin Andrews (Eaton-Robb)

  4. Anti Virus Software (“World Anti Virus Market Share Report”)

  5. How to protect yourself • Software • Norton, McAfee, Anti-Malwarebytes etc • Don’t be • Pay attention to the details STUPID!

Examples • Most recent • Case of Tyler Clementi (Friedman) • Roommate and his friend made a live feed of Clementi while he had a lover over • Used Twitter to cyber bully Clementi • Encouraged Clementi to eventually commit suicide by jumping off the GW bridge • Clementi also posted on Facebook immediately before the tragic act saying “jumping off gw bridge sorry”
