  2. E-commerce There are many different products offered by e-commerce websites, for example; clothes, gadgets, food, books and many others. The services that are provided are store pick up or home delivery. E-commerce is the process of buying and selling goods online. The services that are provided are store pick up or home delivery.

  3. Hardware • Web server- it contains the web pages to be viewed via the internet. It is required in order to help load the web pages for the user to view on the monitor. • Routers- it transfers data from one network to another. This allows home users to view websites set up by large organisations. • Bridges- it controls the data transfer in and out of the system. This allows different data to flow at different times in order to fasten the pace o the tasks being carried out. • Hubs- it is a hardware that connects multiple computers together in a network and gives permission for data to be shared. • Network card- it is attached into the computer. It is used to connect to the router wirelessly in order to allow the users to access the webpages

  4. Software • Web browser- it is a software which is installed onto the system to allow users to view web pages. For example; Microsoft uses Internet explorer. • Database system- it is a system that allows the user to input, retrieve and store information. • Firewall- it is an anti-virus software that helps protect the system from hazards such as, Trojans, worms and other viruses. • Web authoring tool- it enables users to create web pages without the need of paying IT experts to do the job. They are created in HTML. • Platform- the basic layout of the web page should always be consistent in order to help the different types of users to successfully complete their transaction.

  5. Networking technologies Ports connect protocols and IP addresses together. TCP/IP is a protocol. It is used in order to allow data transfer across a network. However, it would become difficult to understand the data if the other computers do not use the same protocol. Ports- The interface on the computer to which you can connect a device. Internal devices: disk drives, display screens and keyboards. External devices: ports to connect peripheral devices such as, printers, modems and mouse.

  6. Requirements • Domain names- it is the text shown when the IP address has been resolved. Domain names must be considered as the customers will not be able to remember the IP address since it is long and meaningless letters and numbers put together. • Multiple registration of domains (.com as well as.co.uk)- this would allow customers to access the web page even if they do not remember the correct extension. • Programming requirements- it is required to be in a HTML form. The HTML code should provide languages such as, PHP and JavaScript. PHP(hypertext pre-processor) allows web pages to connect to databases and online payment systems. JavaScript offers interactivity between the computer and the user. Download speed- this should be considerably fast as customers would not like to wait. In order to accomplish this it would be best to compress the images, as they would take longer to download. Also to avoid using large tables as it would also increase the time taken to download. • Browser and platform compatibility- the browser should be made easy for all targeted users to be able to use efficiently. Also the platform should still consist of the older versions as a drastic change to the platform may lead to a reduction of customers which would cause a loss to the organisation.
