  1. The Dog House By David Shald and Matthew Hurst

  2. Dog Houses • Our dog house is a revolutionary concept that caters to all of the needs of your best friend • It is a warm place for your dog to stay outside, even in the extreme climate of Colorado • It is always dry. We filled all the cracks, and our new dual layered roof is sure to not let any water inside.

  3. The Breed • Labrador have a life span of twelve years • There are many colors of labs: golden, chocolate and black • Many websites say that labs over 100 pounds are obese • Matthew's dog is obese • Based on this we made a larger dog house

  4. The Breed • This dog house was designed for a Labrador • Labradors are generally 22-24 inches and 65 to 75 pounds • Matthew’s dog is bigger than the average for the breed, so we made our dog house much bigger than that. • More information on the breed can be found at these websites: • www.akc.org/breeds/labrador_retriever/ • www.dogbreedinfo.com/labrador.htm

  5. Specifications • Our dog house is made of half inch plywood, very durable for a lab, two by four studs, and it is held together with nails • The space between the two layered roof is filled with insulation • The entire roof creates a watertight seal • The dog house is approximately four feet by two and a half feet

  6. Materials • 2inx4in x 104 5/8 at $2.36 * 4 = $9.44 • ½in*4ft*8ft at $14.93 * 5 = $74.65 • Assorted nails (couldn’t find on website) = around $10?? • Insultation (need expertise for what kind) anywhere between $10 - $30 • A complete dog house for just over $100!! • All Materials from homedepot.com
