  2. What is Halal Food (meat)? • Halal is an Arabic word that means permissible according to the Islamic Law. Why Halal Food in the Cafeteria? • Muslim and All students from NJIT and Rutger’s Newark will have an easier way to buy Halal Food than going to further places

How the slaughtering of animals (Dhabiha) is performed according to the Islamic Law? • Pronouncing the name of Allah (s.w.t), (BISMILLAH ALLAHU AKBAR). • Very sharp knife, a deef swift cut • Results in: • Maximum bleeding-out and less retention of blood in the carcass (better quality of meat) • Minimum pain to the animal
