  2. Introduction Our English teacher told us to make a powerpoint about Thomas Burberry. We don´t know anything about him. We are very curious! We hope we can discover a lot about him. We love to shop! So, we want to buy Burberry’s clothes!

  3. ThomasBurberry Thomas Burberry was born on 27th August and died at his home at Hook near Basingstoke in 1926. He was the founder of Burberry, one of the United Kingdom's largest branded clothing businesses. He created a gabardine and the chess standard.

  4. He campaigned against tobacco smoking and he loved to hunt. He liked to hold prayer meetings every morning. He married twice, first to Catherine Hannah Newman and second to Mary Marshall. He had two sons.

  5. Burberry´s Burberry was founded in 1856, when 21-year-old Thomas Burberry opened his own store in Basingstoke, England. In 1920 Burberry brand was created in the use of chess and became an icon.

  6. In 1891, Burberry opened a shop in the Haymarket, London. Burberry currently has over 70 shops worldwide. The black, tan, and red pattern known as hay market check or the "Burberry classic check" was first used as a lining for the Burberry trench coat in 1924.
