  1. Righteous Among the Nations White Eagle Lower-Secondary School, Jablonna, Poland

WLADYSLAWA CHOMSOWA (1891 – 1966) - during the Second World War in the Home Army, lived in Lvov, helped in escapes from ghetto and finding flats; issued false documents for Jews, rescued children and passed them to orphanages and acquaintances, in 1966 honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.

  3. ZOFIA CZERWINSKA (1913 -1943) – lived in Warsaw, organized fake addresses for hiding Jews from the ghetto, in 1943 arrested by the Gestapo, died in Auschwitz.

  4. S. MATYLDA GETTER (1870 – 1968) – a nun, hid Jewish children in orphanages in and around Warsaw, honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.

  5. KS. MARCELI GODLEWSKI (1865 – 1945) – a priest from Warsaw, a social activist, during the war his church was within the ghetto limits, helped people from the ghetto – served free meals, helped in escapes, hid Jews in the church and at the presbytery, in 2009 honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.

  6. IRENA GUT (1918 – 2003) – helped Jews in Tarnopol, at the beginning fed them, then – in the face of liquidation of the local ghetto – hid 12 Jews until the end of the war, in 1982 honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.

  7. MARIA KAHN (1916 – 1995) – a scout activist in the underground movement, looked for flats for hiding Jews.

  8. ZOFIA KOSSAK – SZCZUCKA (1890 – 1968) – a Catholic writer, during the war helped Jews, provided false documents, lodged women and children in monastic houses, in 1943 arrested, in 1944 ransomed from the Gestapo, in 1982 honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.

  9. ADAM and BRONISLAWA KOWALSCY (Dec. 1942) - helped hide two Jews, in Dec. 1942 arrested and burned alive in a house with five of their children by German soldier.s

  10. JADWIGA SALEK – DENEKO (1911 – 1944) – a teacher, during the war hid a Jewish family, arrested and shot dead in the ruins of the Warsaw ghetto, in 1987 honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations

  11. IRENA SENDLEROWA (1919 – 2008) – a social worker, smuggled Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto, providing them with false documents and hiding in private houses and orphanages, saved c. 2,500 Jewish children, in 1965 honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations

  12. HENRYK SLAWIK (1884 – 1944) – a journalist, a Socialist party activist, in Hungary issued false documents and rescued 5,000 Polish Jews, opened an orphanage for Jewish children, 1944 arrested and shot dead in Mauthausen, in 1992 honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.

  13. JÓZEF I WIKTORIA ULM (1900 – 1944; 1912 – 1944) – farmers, Józef – a social activist, during the war hid six Jews at their farm, died as a result of a denunciation, shot dead with six of their children by the Germans, honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.

  14. JAN ŻABIŃSKI (1897 – 1974) – zoologist, manager of the Warsaw ZOO, hid Jews in empty buildings of what used to be the ZOO and delivered food, in 1965 honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.

  15. JAN KARSKI (1914 – 2000) – an underground fighter, reported to the Polish Government and Western Allies on the situation in occupied Poland, especially the extermination of Jews and existence of concentration and death camps, in 1982 honoured with the title of Righteous Among the Nations.
