  2. What are agenda comments? A tool for students, teachers and parents to monitor and communicate procedural violations (i.e., gum, tardiness) When a minor infraction occurs, the teacher documents the infraction in the student’s agenda, under the day the infraction occurs Parents review their child’s agenda comments and sign the agenda weekly to monitor their child’s behavior

  3. Why are agenda comments necessary? Tracks behavior in a central location Eliminates multiple detentions for a single student Provides immediate consequence for minor infractions Affords school-to-home contact and home-to-school contact via the agenda

  4. How are agenda comments issued? 1st comment: Documented in agenda 2nd comment: Documented in agenda 3rd comment: Documented and detention issued (Parent Contact) 4th comment: Documented and Parent Conference Requested (by Team/Enrichment Teacher) 5th comment and beyond: Documented and Referral Written - School Plus/ISS/OSS (PC by Admin) ***Comments reset on Monday of each week and advisory teachers check for parent signature***

  5. What if….. • What happens if a student loses their agenda? • The student must inform their advisory teacher and will purchase a new agenda at a cost of $5. The student will be given a one daily agenda sheet/copy. • What happens if a teacher asks for a student’s agenda, but they do not have it? • The student will receive an automatic detention.

  6. Will all infractions be handled with agenda comments? - NO Only designated classroom level infractions will be handled through agenda comments. Higher level infractions will be written on referrals Electronic Device and Dress Code infractions have separate discipline ladders and will be sent to grade level discipline offices.

  7. “Comment” Level Infractions Tardy (T) Class Disruption (CD) Gum, Food, Candy(GFC) Minor Insubordination (I) Required Materials (RM) Off Task/Talking (OT) No Assignment (NA) Inappropriate Conduct (IC) ***Code will include teacher initials

  8. PBS Recognition Possibilities… Recognition will continue to be given via BINGO cards Recognition may be given for minimal to no agenda comments during a specified time frame… Recognition may be give for amount of Parent signatures… Other ideas…

  9. RTI If a student earns consecutive weeks of 4+ comments… the student will be submitted to the RTI program to start at Tier 2 Behavioral. A Behavioral Contract will be implemented with a 2 week Roll-Over Period of comments. Parent will be invited to the RTI Meeting.

  10. Detention Policy 2012-13 Students serve one hour after school on Wednesday, from 3:15 until 4:15 A missed detention will result in an office referral/School Plus Grade level clerks will maintain the detention file for their grade level and will write the referral if detention is missed

  11. Agenda Comments Questions, comments, concerns? Agenda comments review committee will meet after the 1st nine weeks
