Gone through the topics: Photogrammetric capturing, Field work, generalisation, cartographing, specification work, quality controlling and so on. Name, Role and Constitution • The IOF is made up of the national orienteering federations which have been admitted to membership • Amongst its members, the IOF is the supreme authority on all matters relating to international orienteering • The IOF is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) • The IOF is registered in Helsinki, Finland O-Map Seminar, Curitiba, Brazil, October-November 2006 Instructors: László Zentai (HUN), Flemming Hjorth Jensen (DEN)

Objectives and Tasks • The tasks of the IOF shall be • To commission and supervise World Championships and other IOF events in recognised disciplines of orienteering • To commission and supervise other IOF international competitions • To draw up universal rules and guidelines for orienteering and to supervise their proper applicationpartly via the IOF advisors • To maintain cordial relation with other international sports organisation and to represent the interests of orienteering in its dealing with these O-Map Seminar, Curitiba, Brazil, October-November 2006 Instructors: László Zentai (HUN), Flemming Hjorth Jensen (DEN)

IOF Council • The IOF Council shall lead the IOF between General Assemblies • Members are elected by the IOF General Assembly • President, senior vice president, 2 vice presidents, total 9 members • Election period 2 years • Political and strategic lead of IOF • All decisions must be published by the Council • Committees can only propose/recommend to the Council O-Map Seminar, Curitiba, Brazil, October-November 2006 Instructors: László Zentai (HUN), Flemming Hjorth Jensen (DEN)

  14. IOF General Assembly • Ordinary or Extraordinary • Each IOF full member shall have the right to send three delegates to a General Assembly. Delegates shall be citizens or residents of the country represented. Associate members may send up to two representatives. • Each full member represented at the General Assembly shall have one vote.
